this isnt really a program idea. its more of a general idea...
You know how there are actors' guilds and writers guilds, right? well, wouldn't it be kinda cool if someone created a calculator guild? you could call it the Calculator Programmers Guild (CPG). Everyone who is a calculator programmer would sign up. and there name and program(s) would be listed on the website.
just a thought

Most people won't give out programs without receiving credit for a job well done as payment. It is kind of hard to receive credit for making a good program if it says that it was written by an anonomous programmer.

really? well there sure are a lot of programs posted at ticalc.org, they do get credit for the program, but only about 5% of them get credit for a job well done, because they are the only ones that don't s-u-c-k

Well, why don't one of us just start one then? I mean, it seems like no one here is really afraid of offending people.

I know of sucha group. like back in '99 there was a group called the TI-Basic quality alliance (TBQA), affiliated with the now dead sicode programming group. It's URL used to be tbqa.calc.org/, but it slowly died out, as the members did nothing at all, and neither did the webmaster of the website. (it was supposed to be a place to get tons of hi quality calc programs, but that never happened... -_-

I am a lazy person, and besides, if a webmaster plans on keeping members, telling them that their programs stink to much to be in the archive isn't the best way to keep them! But if you have hundreds of active members, you really can refuse a few, and supply good games.
The biggest problem is time, because it takes a lot of time to make any website work the way you planned it to. It is especially difficult when you have to manually do everything such as register every member. I am going to write a script for this, because it takes me more than 10 minutes to modify the page, update the search engine, add the email allisas, send an email reply, add them to the news list, and upload any programs they send.

yeah, ur probably right, maybe instead of a doesn't stink section, it could be the high quality section, or the kevtiva seal of approval section, or something else, cause i really don't want kevtiva to get HUGE, cause the reason i'm a poster at kevtiva instead of ticalc.org is because kevtiva is still small enough for people with my knowledge of ti BASIC to be rare
